Weekly analytics workflow
Turn a LinkedIn analytics export into a weekly content review
A useful review is not a hunt for one magic number. It is a consistent comparison of reach, engagement, and individual posts over the same time window.
1. Keep the time window consistent
Compare this week with another seven-day period, or this month with another full month. Changing the length of the window makes raw totals harder to interpret.
2. Separate reach from response
Impressions tell you how much distribution your content received. Engagement tells you how much visible interaction occurred. A post can have high reach and modest interaction, or smaller reach with unusually strong response.
3. Rank posts, then read them
Sort posts by impressions and by engagement, but do not stop at the ranking. Look at the topic, opening line, format, timing, and call to action. The numbers identify candidates for investigation; they do not explain causation by themselves.
4. Write one decision for next week
Choose one test you can actually run: repeat a topic, try a different opening, publish at a comparable time, or change the format. A review becomes useful when it changes the next action.
